“A few years ago I won “The Best Dive Job” – becoming a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor in Bali. Unfortunately for me, my time is up. But luckily for aspiring professional divers ‘The Best Dive Job’ is back. This time there’s not one, but 8 lucky candidates who will compete for the opportunity of a lifetime.” – Kenzo Kiren, Winner of the Best Dive Job 2010

The 8 winning candidates of the ‘Best Dive Job’ will each receive an attractive six week training package to become certified PADI Divemasters worth $5,000 including living costs.

Ultimately ONE lucky candidate will WIN the grand prize: A package which includes all training necessary to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer – free accommodation while in training, full set of equipment, teaching materials …and a full-time work contract with Blue Season Bali upon completion of the training program.

Blue Season Bali’s Director, Jon Cross said the competition provided an excellent platform to entice more young people from around the world to come to Bali to train and become professional divers.

“We’ve taken one of the most successful scuba diving contest in recent times – “Best Dive Job” – and made it bigger and better by coming up with a competition which represents the very best of our industry – our breath-taking scenery, our unique nature and wildlife, great food and, of course, our huge sense of Adventure,” Mr Cross said.

Kenzo Kiren added “Winning the best dive job has given me the skills and know-how to become a successful scuba diving instructor while traveling around the world”.

Mr Cross said the competition was expected to appeal to youth travellers’ sense of fun and adventure. “The youth market contributes more than a quarter of all Indonesia’s international arrivals. These are visitors who tend to stay longer, disperse widely and often come back again, with their families, later in their lives.”

The youth segment contributes more than $250 million annually in total tourism spending and delivers nearly 1.2 million (26%) of Bali’s international arrivals. On average, youth travellers spend $4,579 per trip in Indonesia .

Blue Season Bali has secured a number of key partners to support the campaign, including PADI, and other international and local partners.
