I want to change my life and become a PADI dive instructor for a number of reasons. The obvious being that I would get to live on the beautiful island of Bali, dive every day and meet new people! Another reason is that I would like to feel the reward of helping someone else achieve their dream to dive. When I learnt to dive I was scared of the sea, I would barely even paddle in it! Thankfully my instructor had a lot of patience and made me persevere, he took me aside from the group to teach me separately and it was only after completing my Advanced Open Water course that I felt completely confident in the water. For that reason I have always looked up to and respected those that have taught me to dive and I would like to do the same for others.

I currently manage a successful business which takes up most of my time, I wake up and it’s dark and by the time I leave work its dark! I want to swap my morning meetings in 4 bare walls to giving a dive brief, floating on a boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I live for the weekend – after a hard week at work I love letting my hair down and going out and socialising with friends. I want to live for every day not just the weekend and becoming a dive instructor would enable me to do that. I have just passed an English teaching course and am studying Spanish as I would love to be able to speak another language.
I dream of travelling the world and working as a dive instructor. I enquired about completing my professional training with Blue Season in June 2010 before this life changing competition was launched. I wanted to enter last year but was completing a Business & Management degree and the timing wouldn’t have been right, now there is nothing stopping me…other than leaving family and friends but surely they wouldn’t mind holidaying in Bali?!

My news feed is full of pictures and status updates of friends who are all settling down, buying houses, getting engaged, married and having kids and I am nowhere near ready for that. I want an adventure. I try to leave my job but am offered more money and rewards and find it hard to make the break and leave. I know that money doesn’t mean happiness which is why I want to change my life; I just need your help to do it 
Whilst I’m nervous about the prospect of setting off alone into the unknown, one of the many things that would be amazing about winning this competition is the knowledge that I am going to be working with friendly professionals at Blue Season Bali who would make me feel welcome.
